The Odyssey of Cross Platform Development
May 9, 2026
“Time is money”, more commonly attributed to Benjamin Franklin, is often the directive of the day! You’ve got that next development idea that you really have the itch to pursue and share with the world. Maybe you are doing it because of dollar signs! Perhaps you’re doing it because you want to try to change the world. Or could it be that you want to create a tool you can use yourself, and you also see others using?
Solitaire, a free web card game
May 3, 2026
My wife enjoys solitaire on her iPad. I worked up this simple version for the web so she could play it without advertisements and from any device that could access the web from a browser. You can enjoy it too! If you’ve never played, this may help you learn. It is included in the game just a button click away. Move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles, one per suit, built up from Ace to King.
Tessera, the tile puzzle game
April 18, 2026
When I was a kid my maternal grandmother had theses little plastic tile games around her business. She would let me play with them when I visited. They were just a series of white tiles with black numbers. Tessera, Latin for tile, is web based version of those little tile games of the past. I had written a Swift/SwiftUI version but never released it. The premise is simple, slide the tiles into order to complete the puzzle.
Road Sign Bingo
March 29, 2026
Road Sign Bingo, my first public iOS app release since 2013, is a game that turns everyday road trips into a scavenger hunt. You get a 5x5 bingo card filled with real road signs. As you spot them out the window, you tap them on your card. Get five in a row and you win! You can play on iPhone and iPad. Techinically I have seen it run on macOS 26.
Typo The Game
March 15, 2026
When my kids were younger I created a Javascript based game to make learning and practicing typing fun. It was not as cool and full featured as this version below in Swift language. Typo the game runs on MacOS Sierra through Tahoe; It is free to download without needing to give out your email or other info. You can see it in action below. The video does not go into all the of the features.
Owe You Everything, A Prayer
March 12, 2026
Recently I was cleaning up some files and I stumbled upon this idea that I penned in 2023. This simple little acoustic piece was never returned to and completed. I found myself thinking of it as a prayer as I listened to it. I hope this concept video and the song somehow bless you. Share it with others!
Ode To ADF
June 8, 2025
A few months back, I penned this satire about Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF). It’s a mix of my day job as a developer converging with my passion, music and songwriting. Today I decided to take a swing at updating the drums for it. If you are a software developer who uses ADF, you may find it funny!
The Name More Beautiful
March 28, 2025
Recently I was reading Romans and tears came to my eyes as I just got a great sense of how much God loves me and you. His great sacrifice means great hope for this sinner. I wrote this that same day. I hope it encourages you somehow, some way. This song was released March 28, 2025.
Saying Goodbye
March 25, 2025
Sadly this past March we said goodbye to a part of our family, Lucas. Lucas came into our lives a little over nine years ago. We knew he was getting older, but when he slowed down a good bit during his daily walks, we didn’t quite realize there was something more going on. My wife took him for his regular nail clipping and the veterinarian noticed he wasn’t himself. She asked to do some scans and the resulting news rattled our world.
Wayfaring Stranger
February 15, 2025
Using a Gretsch resonator guitar for both the rhythm and lead parts, here is my take on Wayfaring Stranger. I hope you like it.
