Privacy Policy — DailyStepCount
Last updated: April 2, 2026
OVERVIEW
DailyStepCount is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything stays on your device.
DATA COLLECTED
DailyStepCount does not collect any data. Specifically:
- No personal information is collected (name, email, account, etc.)
- No location data is collected or accessed
- No device identifiers are collected
- No analytics or crash reporting services are used
- No advertising SDKs or tracking libraries are included
HEALTH DATA
DailyStepCount reads step count data from Apple HealthKit solely to display it on your home screen widget. This data:
- Is read in real time and displayed directly — it is never written to disk by this app, sent to a server, or shared with any third party
- Never leaves your device
- Is queried only when the widget refreshes (approximately every 18 minutes) or when you open the app
The app requests read-only access to step count. It does not request write access and cannot modify your Health data.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
DailyStepCount does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, APIs, or analytics platforms. There are no external network requests of any kind.
DATA STORAGE
The only data the app writes to your device is a single true/false flag in a shared app container (UserDefaults) indicating whether you have granted Health access. This flag is used solely to determine which screen to show when you tap the widget. It contains no health data.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
DailyStepCount does not collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be distributed with the app and the “Last updated” date above will be changed. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
